  • Drives: CD-ROM drive or a connection to a network if you are installing Office from a network volume.
  • Display: Monitor that can display 256 colors and a resolution of 800 × 600 or higher. A monitor that can display thousands or millions of colors and a resolution of 1024 × 768 or higher is recommended.

    * The hard disk should be in Mac OS Extended (HFS+) format, the default format for Mac OS X; although you can perform a drag-and-drop installation of and run the Office v. X for Mac Test Drive from a hard disk that is in another format, Microsoft does not currently support such a configuration.
