Trouble Shooting for Audio / Video Files
|
Q: My computer does not recognise this type of file. What type of file is it and what is required for it to play.
A: These are QuickTime files and require QuickTime Player 5 or 6 on your Windows PC or Mac OS 9 or X to view these videos. If you need to install QuickTime, go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ to download and install the program.
|
Q: I click on the link for the file name in the left column but it does not start downloading?
A: In Windows, you can force a download to start by clicking on the link with your right mouse button. A menu will appear to the side of your mouse pointer. Select "Save Target As.." from the menu and a file requester will appear. Choose the place on your hard drive you'd like to save the file to and select "Save". The file should then start downloading. |
Q: I click on the "Click Here to Play" Button and an image appears and plays and then stops.
A: This means that your internet connection (likely through a dial-up modem) can not download the video faster than it is being played .. or to say it a different way, the video is being played faster than your modem can download it. These are large video files. Be patient and wait for some time .. 30 - 45 min. then hit the play button and the video should play straight through.
The problem may also be that you do not have enough hard drive space on your C: drive .. you should have at least 500MB of free space on your C: drive. Try making more space by deleting files that you know are unnecessary. |
Q: Are these QuickTime Video and MP3 Audio files iPod Compatible?
A: Yes. These QuickTime and MP3 Files are iPod compatible. The MP3 files can be uploaded to any ipod and the QuickTime files are compatible with the iPod Video. Simply add thesee files to the library in iTunes on your Windows or Mac computer and drag them to your connected iPod. |
Q: Are these QuickTime Video and MP3 Audio files compatible with other portable video and MP3 Players like Creative, Samsung or PSP?
A: Maybe. The MP3 files should work on any MP3 Player. The QuickTime videos will likely need to be converted for more portable video players and tteh PSP. Software to do the conversion will be included with your player or there are commercial or shareware software packages to do the conversion. Check the players manual, website or check http://www.download.com for a converter. |
